Subject: HR-1 Hydraulic Relay Valve

It functions as a control point that reduces and directs hydraulic pump pressure to and

from spring actuated parking brakes. A special PP-1 Push Pull Control Valve is used in

conjunction with the HR-1. It contains special “O” rings and lubricant that are compatible

to the fluid used in a hydraulic system and has a nominal automatic release pressure of

10 p.s.i. It is identified with a spot of yellow paint and is serviced with maintenance kit

104091.

This new system will be standard on all 1984 Ford models F, C, L, and B trucks in the

600, 700 and 800 series. The following are the components and part numbers that make

up the hydraulic relay system.

The recently released HR-1 Hydraulic

Relay Valve is designed for use on

hydraulic braked light and medium

straight trucks that incorporate a

separate and independent hydraulically

operated spring actuated parking brake

system.
